So my take on the SD mode was that it holds at higher RPMs than the regular D mode. I've read some peoples accounts on how they've watched the RPM needle jump when they switch to SD. I believe my X3 used to do that but lately I have notice the needle doesn't budge when I shift to SD, either on the freeway or idling at the lights. hFRgA.
