A 450 EXC is a great enduro/woods bike but not a good candidate for a dual sport that will do any amount of "street" mileage. Been there, done that, sold my '04 after about 8 months. I now have an XR650 for the dual sport role, much more enjoyable on extended road trips. And a KTM 2 stroke for serious woods riding.

Some guys do just a drain (no filters/screens) at 15, then '03 KTM 450 EXC '02 KTM 640 LC4e '01 Honda XR650R Oil change for the KTM 250 EXC-F 2007 There are 3 oil filters, 2 mesh ones & 1 paper paper one. The paper one, (HiFlo HF655), is on the left side above the footpeg, there is a mesh one below the gear lever, hidden behind a bolt. The other mesh one is underneath, behind the sump guard & uses an 8mm allen key.
Also, keep in mind that intervals can be extended significantly based on how you’re actually riding the bike. Still pretty frequent unfortunately.
