I’m on XBOX one also, not PS5, so it’s likely all the discs not just console specific. Mine doesn’t even recognize a disc has been inserted when I put MWII disc in, but all others work fine.
If you have a digital PS5 and your game purchase relies on a PS4 game disc, there is nothing anyone can do. You aren't supposed to be able to access disc content from a digital only PS5. That's the crux of the issue, your game is looking for the game disc which you cannot insert into a digital only PS5.
I uninstalled that disc install of MW, and tried to get that work using just the free MW warzone downloads, but it still wasn't working. So I rebought the digital version of MW, and after installed all the updates it worked. Not sure why it wanted the full version of MW, but I thought you didn't need it to play just the free MW warzone update. If you’re still running into this error, make sure you install each part of Modern Warfare 2. This can be done by managing your game and add-ons on your respective system and ensuring each part of the installation is ticked and installed. If not, simply tick it, and it should automatically install.
